The skirt of this
dark red Latin gown was fashioned after the outfit Mariah Carey wore on the
cover of her "Emancipation of Mimi" album. Once the dress was finished,
however, the outcome was a very feminine and flattering Flamenco-style gown.
Both arms are long-sleeved, with one arm off the shoulder. The neckline is a
deep V reaching almost to the belly-button, while the back is open and comes
to a point quite low on one side. The opalescent red skirt is curled with
fishing wire, then weighted with curtain weights. It is two layers,
beginning at the hip on one leg and ending just above the ankle on the
other. This dress is perfect for someone who is nervous about showing too
much skin but still wants to look professional and well-groomed. As a
caution, however, the skirt is heavy and takes some getting used to.
