on steps 2 & 4, optional on steps 6-9. On 1-6 a 1/4 turn may be made on each

face partner (counts &.8).

1-4 of Coup de Pique (counts 1.2.3.4), Sur Place LF (Lady RF, count &),
Repeat steps 1-4 or Coup de Pique (counts 5.6.7.8). Follow with Left Foot
Variation.
Note:
1-4 of Coup de
Pique is an effective way of changing feet. When commenced on the first beat
of a bar it is used as a precede to the Left Foot Variation.
At the Gold level
when commenced on the second beat of a bar it is used to return to a RF step
(Lady LF) on beat 1. Example: After the Twists or Syncopated Separation,
dance Sur Place LF (Lady RF) on (count 1), then 1-4 of Coupe de Pique
(counts 2.3.4.5), 3 Sur Place starting with LF (lady RF) or 1 sur Place and
a Chasse to Right counts 6.7.8).
