Newcomer - Gold:
Any syllabus figure commenced with feet together, depending on alignment
Elevations:
The Elevations are
Chasses to Right or Left danced with a change of height either high on toes
with legs straight or with feet flat and knees slightly flexed. Some
possible combinations are: 2 Chasses up and 2 Chasses down, 1 Chasse up and
1 Chasse down, and 1 step up and 1 step down.
When using
Elevations a Promenade shape may be applied, or changed to a Counter
Promenade shape, particularly if the Chasses are curved to R.
The change of
height gives a strong feeling of change of body position, so a Promenade
shape could be changed to a Counter Promenade shape or vice versa as each
change of height is achieved.
