after steps 2 or 8 substitute single "Quick" steps for the chasses as
follows:
On count "Q"
place left foot diagonally forward, turning Lady to the left. On the next "Q",
place
right foot forward and across in Promenade Position turning Lady to
the right.
Repeat these two steps up to three times. Lead Lady into each
turn towards the end of the previous beat of music.
For Lady,
after steps 2 or 8 substitute single "Quick" steps for the chasses as
follows:
On count "Q"
place right foot to side, having turned 1/4 to the left on left foot.
On the following
"Q", left foot forward in Promenade Position, having turned 1/4
to the right on the right foot. Repeat these two steps up to three
times
making sure that each turn is made towards the end of the previous beat of
music.
Development
(Silver - Gold):
The
alternative method of substituting single "Quick" steps for the
chasses could be danced as follows (Gentleman using a "Merengue"
action):
On count "Q"
firmly straighten the right knee on the second half of the preceding step, causing
the right hip to move back and to the right. Place the left foot diagonally forward
with part weight. Lady closes her right foot to her left foot, having turned
1/4 to the left on the second half of the preceding beat.
On the next
count "Q", firmly straighten left knee on the second half of
the preceding
step, causing the left hip to move back and to the left. Close the right foot to
the
left foot in Promenade Position with part weight. Lady places left foot
forward and across in Promenade Position, having turned 1/4 to
the right
on the second half of the preceding beat.
Repeat these
two up to three times, Gentleman taking weight fully onto
last step. When using this method the Walks may be curved slightly to
the left.
